Fertilizers for Motivation

Never let people define who you are. Or tell you what you should be doing or your goals in life. You are you. You create your own dreams and chase them because dreams can be a reality.

Comparing is a disease of the mind. Don't compare yourself to anyone. Just carry on at your own pace

You don't need attention and compliments to feel good about yourself. Being confident can make you happier. Happiness starts with you.

Only focus on your goals. Don't be distracted by others. The only way to succeed is to focus on yourself and what is best for you.

Be kind. Be nice. Think good of others.

It makes a difference,

a good one.

2020 - "I voted" #GE2020

" Opinions change with an open mind.

So for a change, we need to be open minded."

I made my VERY FIRST VOTE at age 23! And I made my vote count even though it wasn't much of a change in my GRC in terms of percentages and results. Even so, I think it is one's privilege and duty AS A SINGAPOREAN to vote. And to be honest, I still can't fathom the fact that a total of about 7000 people in my GRC did not vote + spoilt votes. Like, "what is actually going on??" (I mean, if you weren't given the rights to vote, you would be so salty about it lah. Now you are given the rights, might as well use it.)

Here's me giving a GenZ ('97s-baby) perspective of the whole General Election 2020.

Before that, DISCLAIMER: Whatever I am saying below is solely my opinion & every one has the rights to think whatever they want about this election. This is just basically MY POINT OF VIEW and I do not speak for ANYONE else, not even for the other GenZs. And I admit that, most of us GenZs, are not still open minded to accepting different views. We are also still lacking in knowledge about the system and still got A LOT of things to learn from. We don't give the benefit of the doubt and we QUESTION and assume of the worst when in doubt - that's us.

I read a lot and even if I did so, I felt like it wasn't enough to understand this whole political system. Through my observations there were 3 groups of people: 1.PRO-INCUMBENT 2.PRO-PEOPLE (the neutrals) 3.ANTI-INCUMBENT

After reading much, I realised I lean more to the pro-people because I do support people from BOTH the incumbent and the oppositions. Also, I was in favour with a few party's manifestos. I am actually blessed and I appreciate the effort and work the incumbent have done so far, at the same time, I do agree that some things HAVE TO CHANGE. There is a NEED for action for certain areas especially for us GenZs who have our whole lives ahead in Singapore. 'We are worried for our future and our future generations' I am supportive of having new voices in the parliament to push the change but at the same time, I am aware and I understand that CHANGE TAKES TIME. It doesn't happen overnight. When I saw the results, I expected it. 'Alhamdulillah' is all I can say. We might not see a drastic change now but I have hope that we will see change in the next 10 years. So, be patient and in shaa Allah, everything will keep getting better. I do not see the need to argue to the point the pro-incumbent and pro-oppositions throw such unnecessary words to each other. There is also no need to dismiss others who did not have the same mindset as you. This has to stop.

We have to think rationally and accept that everyone has their own point of view. For our future, if we keep barking but we do not realise the reality of things and what we are actually fighting for, it will just be a waste of energy. Also, people will treat us as a joke because we are not intelligent enough to know what are the things that is worth putting our energy in.

START PRODUCING IDEAS AND SUGGESTIONS INSTEAD OF DISMISSING FACTS THAT IS NOT IN OUR FAVOUR. BE OPEN.

I personally feel that we GenZs have so much more to learn. I know we are all eager to fight and stand up for change but as we do so, there is so much more to see. So much more to appreciate. So much more to understand. So much more to empathise. So much more to contribute to the society. So much more to do.

As long as you have not reach the stage where you really contributed so much to the community in Singapore (ranting on twitter doesn't count by the way), I do not see the need to be hating on each other just on different views and opinion. Actually, even then, no one has the rights to be hating on each other in any way. The knowledge of the world is so much bigger than living in just our own tiny mindset. Explore it and it will change our lives.

May Allah s.w.t grant us knowledge. May Allah s.w.t grant us ease and protection always. May Allah s.w.t grant us blessings and more blessings for being patient in this tough times. Aamiin.♡
