"You can't help how you were raised, but you can work to control how you act now and how you raise your own children."
It seems like I am back with my 2-post per month frequency. Sigh. I'm not sure till when but hopefully life will really slow itself down a little. Time is running super fast too. It's getting very rushing. This week have been really tough. I had another episode of suicidal thoughts again and the source of trigger will always be the same. So, I told myself, let's get this done and over with. Let's just google some of the ways I can really manage a person who is narcissistic. It gets really tiring when it is someone living in the same house as you. So, according to sources from GOOGLE,... HOW DO I IDENTIFY A NARCISSISTIC PERSON? 1. Self-centered Always thinking about themselves and ignoring others needs and only focusing on themselves. 2. Sense of Entitlement or Superiority They feel they are always right and they are better or deserve more than other people 3. Lack of Empathy Lack of compassion and feelings for other people 4. Manipulative or controlling Use emotions to manipulate people and have a tendency to be extremely jealous and controlling in relationships 5. Strong need for admiration Demand admiration and praise. Like to be the center of attention. Upset if the spotlight is not on them.
6. Difficulty taking feedback Over-react to criticism, have a hard time admitting when they are wrong.
HOW DO I DEAL WITH IT? 1. Educate yourself about narcissism 2. Accept that they won't change 3. Protect yourself and limit contact with them 4. Reconnect with your feelings - let them in, listen to them and carry them with respect. 5. Stop blaming yourself for what was never your responsibility or fault to begin with. 6. Stop hurting yourself and thinking of doing harm to yourself. Seek help. 7. Be wary of other attractions with narcissistic 8. Avoid being a narcissistic yourself and work on mindfulness and peace in your own life.
Having a parent who is narcissistic is no joke. Most of the time, I feel like giving up and just ending my life. The worst part of this situation is not having any support from any of your other family members and you are all alone. But I always remind myself of the people who actually loves me. My friends who are constantly there for me and putting the effort to look forward to life itself. People who kept reminding me of how there are so many things in life to look forward for in the future. In shaa Allah.
May Allah s.w.t. give me strength to get through this. May Allah s.w.t ease my affairs and give me courage to face such challenges in life. May Allah s.w.t protect us always and ease our journey to be a better person. Aamiin.♡
