Bring on the Challenge!

" Challenges are what make life interesting, overcoming them is what makes life meaningful"
Today I accomplished a task that was given to me. One of my colleague initially did not want to teach me this complicated task as he thought that it would TOO DIFFICULT. But I realise, as days goes by, I became BORED at work. YES!! There wasn't any challenge anymore. I was doing the same things every single day. I wanted an UPGRADE. So I asked my colleague if I could actually try this "system" myself after he thought me. And I know he did not look confident. He would actually come over to my desk and check up on me once awhile (which i got a little annoyed after a while because I WANT TO LEARN IT INDEPENDENTLY!). After 15 minutes or so, I finished the task and figured out the system MOSTLY by my own and I called my colleague to check and he was AMAZED AND SHOCK. His reaction was funny as he said "Wow, you are so good. I did not expect this from you!" That statement made me realise five things. 1. I am motivated by challenges 2. I am a fast learner 3. I feel MORE accomplished and motivated by finishing a challenge 4. I am crazy about challenges 5. I am competitive by nature
You know what? I think I might know where I want to be heading in life (yes, just by this incident). And I feel super super blessed by this thinking because I have been feeling so down and so unmotivated these days. I tried to find the drive in me but it failed. I took the time to plan out challenges for the past few weeks and I realise why not challenge myself FOR REAL and keep myself motivated yet benefit from it. Thus, here would be my plan... Challenge 1 (Health) I challenge myself to actually workout at least 10 minutes everyday. It has to be an intensive one because it is only 10 minutes. Challenge 2 (Career) I challenge myself to start a new business. Something I can run by myself and something I am confident that it will work. I could ask for help but I need to handle it ALL MY OWN.
Challenge 3 (Spiritual) I challenge myself to at least read 3 pages of the Quran every single day. Why 3 because it is an odd number* and I realise '5' was too much for me each day and '1' is just pathetic hahahaha I told myself I could do better. Challenge 4 (Knowledge) I challenge myself to read at least once a week about something meaningful or beneficial. It could be an article or a book. And I have to share and reflect about it in a blog post. Challenge 5 (Eliminate Distractions) I challenge myself to spend lesser time on social media. I could use my phone for reading and work wise but to lessen time being on social media. If I am focus on Challenge 1-4, challenge 5 would be easy peasy.
May Allah give me and those reading this (if there is) the strength to go through challenges in life. Aamiin!
