Fertilizers for Motivation

Never let people define who you are. Or tell you what you should be doing or your goals in life. You are you. You create your own dreams and chase them because dreams can be a reality.

Comparing is a disease of the mind. Don't compare yourself to anyone. Just carry on at your own pace

You don't need attention and compliments to feel good about yourself. Being confident can make you happier. Happiness starts with you.

Only focus on your goals. Don't be distracted by others. The only way to succeed is to focus on yourself and what is best for you.

Be kind. Be nice. Think good of others.

It makes a difference,

a good one.

Limitations

"If there is a limit, there will always be a reason to it that is good for you."

I know I have MANY things to do right now but I am just taking a few minutes to just write because it makes me de-stress. It's the second day of Ramadhan and even though I feel really stressed and tired, I tend to feel that I really am using my time wisely during this blessed month. I mean, it's better than to just laze around or sleep the whole day during Ramadhan. When you are busy, you tend to feel that you achieve so many things in a day. I always need to remind myself that it's a blessing instead of something so burdensome for myself. What have I learnt in the first week (maybe just first 2 days) of Ramadhan?

Good deeds do not have a limit but bad deed does. There were so many things that led me to reflect on this - LIMITATIONS. It was first started before Ramadhan when the same person talked bad about me over again which causes a conflict, involving not me, but a person I truly care about. I wasn't too affected by it because recently, I read what was Sayidina Ali (r.a)'s response to such behaviour, "I don't get angry at a childish behaviour."

Due to this, I started thinking when will that person ever stop doing it as talking bad and creating falsehood will always have its LIMITS. It will surely stop and die down one day. Why? Because nothing will last except the truth. So I should just stay calm and let the matter rest itself and just pray for that person to change aka [sabar je sisssss].

Also, you know how Ramadhan is a month of limitations? We can't eat and drink for a certain period of time and we avoid doing bad or sinning. I realise that these limitations are actually NOT A BAD THING.

Ramadhan taught me that doing bad has its limitations. What do I mean by that - we will one day stop sinning and stop our bad deeds, even just for a while. All of us can relate to this in the month of Ramadhan, we try to stop sinning because we want to do more good deeds because Allah s.w.t prohibits us to sin for good.

And it's so amazing how GOOD DEEDS DOES NOT HAVE ANY LIMITATIONS AT ALL! Allah s.w.t does not tell us that we have only a total maximum of rakaat of 20 for tahajjud each day. Allah s.w.t does not tell us that the maximum days to fast in a month outside of Ramadhan is only 10 days. Allah s.w.t does not tell us that the maximum donation we can make is only $100 every day. Allah s.w.t does not tell us that we can only do zikir for a maximum of 100 times in a day. Allah s.w.t does not tell us that we can only seek knowledge for a maximum of 2 hours every day. And the list goes on...

Imagine we have a HUGE bucket to fill it up with water and there are 2 pipes - one is from a dirty water source and one is from a very clean water source. When we do bad deeds, it is like purposely filling our huge bucket with lots of dirty water and over time our bucket gets dirty. You know how humans actually are very attracted to cleanliness and purity - it makes us feel more at ease? We start to pour out those dirty water and instead fill it up with the clean water. Even though sometimes we tend to add a little of the dirty water, more of the clean water will eventually wash away the dirt from the dirty water. And the cycle goes on and on till, in shaa Allah, we get a very clean and pure huge bucket at the end of our lives. Amiin. And an ayat in the Quran that will summarise what I've reflected on the 1st week of Ramadhan, "Indeed, good deeds do away with misdeeds." [Quran 11:114]

I pray that everyone will realise all the bad things we do always have its limit - lying, making someone as a joke, spreading falsehood, and so on. I pray that we all will avoid doing such things even though we are unconscious about it sometimes.

Good has no limits and so is God♥
